Restaurant menu QR codes
A normal menu QR should open a menu or ordering page that clearly belongs to the restaurant or ordering provider. Be careful if it asks for banking details, OTP, wallet login, or an APK download before showing the menu.
Parking QR codes
Parking QR stickers may be pasted on boards, poles, receipts, or walls. Check the payment receiver and website before paying. If a helper shows a separate QR on their phone, confirm it belongs to the operator.
Shop payment QR codes
At a crowded counter, it is easy to scan and pay quickly. Look at the receiver name in your UPI app. If the name does not match the shop, ask before entering your PIN.
How businesses can reduce confusion
- Use tamper-evident QR stickers where possible.
- Print the business name and expected domain next to the QR.
- Check table cards, counters, and parking boards daily.
- Tell staff to verify receiver names when customers report a mismatch.
The place is not proof
A QR code near a shop, table, or parking gate still needs a quick check. Location creates trust, but it does not verify the code.
ScanRaksha on Google Play helps users inspect public QR codes before opening a link or continuing to payment.
