For UPI QR codes
Always check the receiver name and amount before entering your UPI PIN. A QR scan is usually for sending money, not receiving cashback, refunds, or rewards.
For WhatsApp offer QR codes
Be careful with forwarded images that promise free gifts, loan approval, job forms, cashback, or festival offers. If the QR opens a short link or asks for OTP, card details, or UPI PIN, stop.
For fake KYC QR codes
Fake KYC pages often create panic: account blocked, SIM closing, wallet frozen, bank verification pending. Do not enter OTP, PIN, passwords, or identity details through a QR link sent by an unknown person.
For public QR stickers
Parking QR codes, shop QR stickers, and restaurant table cards can be copied or replaced. Check the domain, payee name, and whether the page matches the place you are in.
For APK download QR codes
A QR that downloads an APK for support, rewards, or verification deserves extra caution. Use official app stores and verified company websites instead of random download pages.
Keep one calm habit
Scan, read, then act. Do not let urgency turn a QR code into an automatic payment, login, or download.
